Staff Site Reliability Engineer, Tools & Systems

Stack

What you'll do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate systems supporting Firefox engineering
• Contribute to developer tooling, CI/CD, workflow automation, and AI-assisted development tools
• Own complex problems across software, cloud, and operations, improving reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency
• Use telemetry, metrics, and data analysis to investigate problems and guide engineering decisions
• Develop technical standards and solutions that address recurring problems across teams
• Contribute to open-source projects

What we're looking for

• Strong software engineering skills and substantial experience deploying and operating production systems
• Programming experience in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience building and operating production systems in cloud environments, including infrastructure as code such as Terraform
• Experience in several areas such as CI/CD, containers and orchestration, networking, databases, observability, or developer tooling
• Experience using telemetry, metrics, and data to investigate technical problems and make decisions
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools and their capabilities and limitations

• Experience with C++ or Rust
