What you'll do
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and lead critical projects.
- Drive cross-team initiatives to improve recovery strategies, customer experiences, and platform reliability and scalability.
- Partner with product, design, and analytics to assess technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Own operational readiness, including monitoring, on-call processes, playbooks, testing, and alerting.
- Set code review and design standards, share technical guidance, and mentor engineers.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience designing, building, and launching scalable backend systems.
- Experience designing and operating correctness-sensitive batch, asynchronous, or data-processing systems, including workflows, backfills, reconciliation, observability, and failure handling.
- Ability to architect across complex systems and organizational boundaries to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
- Experience planning and delivering major features, system components, or deprecations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a track record of incorporating feedback.
