What you'll do
- Build APIs, event pipelines, adapters, data-quality gates, and processing with exactly-once posting, replay, and backfill.
- Develop an append-only ledger and accounting engine with idempotent posting, rules, ERP translation, and period locks.
- Create SDKs and frameworks for finance applications and agents.
- Implement audit trails, maker-checker workflows, scoped access, and segregation of duties.
- Build and operate production services, owning reliability, latency, throughput, and correctness.
- Set technical direction through architecture, engineering standards, and design reviews.
What we're looking for
- Strong backend engineering experience in a statically typed language or Python at scale.
- Experience designing and operating high-volume event-driven systems with idempotent processing, replay, and backfill.
- Experience with relational data modeling and complex, versioned SQL data.
- Experience designing APIs, SDKs, and service-to-service integrations.
- Experience building systems with auditability, access control, or compliance requirements.
- Ability to translate non-engineering requirements into technical designs and communicate through design documents.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of experience.
- Experience building developer platforms or paved paths.
- Experience with streaming systems such as Pub/Sub or Kafka.
- Experience building with LLMs and agents, including MCP.
- Experience with ledgers, sub-ledgers, billing, or payments systems.
- Familiarity with double-entry accounting, journal entries, internal controls, and audit concepts.
