Staff Software Engineer, Frontend (Decisions Orchestration)

Set technical direction for Affirm’s checkout experience and lead frontend engineering for the Decisions Orchestration area. Help make checkout fast, clear, and reliable through architecture, cross-functional planning, operational ownership, and team mentorship.

What you'll do

• Set year-long technical strategy and connect it to business-impacting projects.
• Partner with product, design, and analytics to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
• Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations, monitoring, on-call readiness, testing, and alerting.
• Set code review and design standards and share guidance through writing and tech talks.
• Develop teammates through feedback and mentorship.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years developing and architecting web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience planning and delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality.
• Strong written and verbal communication and effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Equivalent practical experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
