What you'll do
- Set the team’s technical strategy on a year-long horizon and guide critical projects.
- Partner with product, design, and analytics to assess technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Define technical solutions and operational processes that multiply team effectiveness.
- Own monitoring, incident triage, on-call rotations, playbooks, testing, and alerting.
- Establish code review and design standards; share practices through writing and tech talks.
- Mentor teammates through feedback and guidance.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including designing and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience building highly available distributed systems.
- Proficiency with declarative web UI frameworks such as React Native, React, or Vue.
- Experience delivering major features or system changes with a defined technical and execution plan.
- Strong coding, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfort working through ambiguity, from language-level details to large-system architecture.
- Practical experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
