Systems Engineer, Tech Foundations (Jira cloud)

About this role

Administer and improve Airbnb’s Jira Cloud and related Atlassian tools. Own workstreams in the migration from Jira Data Center to Cloud, while building reliable configurations, automations, and reporting for internal teams.

What you'll do

• Administer Jira Cloud Software, Jira Service Management, and associated Atlassian tools.
• Design workflows, permissions, screens, issue hierarchies, and other Jira configurations.
• Deliver Jira Data Center-to-Cloud migration workstreams and coordinate cutover readiness.
• Configure JSM SLAs, queues, forms, approval workflows, and security schemes.
• Build automation and integrations using Jira Automation, JavaScript, and the Jira REST API.
• Support access management, testing, incident response, documentation, and operational improvements.

What we're looking for

• At least 3 years of hands-on enterprise Atlassian administration experience, including Jira Software and Jira Service Management Cloud.
• Knowledge of Jira workflow design and strong JQL skills.
• Experience contributing to Jira Data Center-to-Cloud migrations and validating data integrity.
• Experience with Jira REST APIs, automation rules, JavaScript, and JSON.
• Experience configuring JSM SLAs, forms, queues, and approval workflows.
• Ability to work hours overlapping with the USA and deliver autonomously in a remote-first environment.
• Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Atlassian Rovo or other AI/ML capabilities.
• Familiarity with Okta or LDAP integrations and user lifecycle management.
• SAFe or Scrum certification.
• Experience with Slack, Asana, Figma, Airtable, or Miro.
